Fort Zumwalt West won the last time they faced Howell and Audrey Lashbrook did her part to make sure it happened again. The Jaguars came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday thanks in part to Lashbrook, who had 32 digs and three aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 11 games she's played.
Fort Zumwalt West walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-15, 22-25, 25-23.
Fort Zumwalt West relied on the efforts of Charley Wall, who had five aces, and Carly Wolff, who had 15 assists and 14 digs. Those five aces gave Wall a new career-high. Katelyn Deverman also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for St. Charles, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Winfield 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pirates have posted since September 2nd.
St. Charles was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-17, 21-25, 25-21, 16-14.
Fort Zumwalt West's victory bumped their record up to 17-3. As for St. Charles, their win bumped their record up to 7-11-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's match: Fort Zumwalt West has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.4 aces per game. However, it's not like St. Charles struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
