Basketball Recap: Bound Brook Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Bound Brook can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 63-30 loss at the hands of Thrive Charter. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while Thrive Charter are ranked 30th).

Thrive Charter's win on Tuesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Oui-Mia Wilkins, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Wilkins a new career-high in assists (eight). Another player making a difference was Sondjane Doudin, who went 7-for-14 to rack up 19 points and five steals.

With the loss, Bound Brook broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points over those games. As for Thrive Charter, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 18-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Thrive Charter beat Bound Brook by a score of 63-30 later that day.
