Softball Recap: Alexandria Now 11-1 over Last 12 Games

Alexandria made up a huge gap compared to their last game against West Monroe, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Alexandria Trojans blew past the West Monroe Rebels 11-5 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Alexandria got a great performance from Lauren Bonnette as she didn't allow a single earned run over 6.2 innings pitched. Bonnette has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Amiyah Wilson was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in home runs. Jas'Breille Miller also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Alexandria is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. West Monroe dropped their record down to 8-11 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Alexandria will venture away from home to square off against Sterlington at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Monroe, they will host Airline at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
