Football Recap: East Chambers Starts off Right with Win over Rice Consolidated + How To Watch

East Chambers had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 35-10 margin over the Rice Consolidated Raiders on Friday. The Buccaneers pushed the score to 28-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Raiders had little chance of recovering from.

Leading East Chambers to victory were JD Zurby and Koby Jones. Zurby rushed for 130 yards and a pair of scores, while Jones rushed for 107 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: East Chambers was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 299 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 165 rushing yards in ten consecutive games dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, East Chambers will welcome Hardin-Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Rice Consolidated, they are taking a road trip to take on Shiner at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
