Preview: Kountze Lions vs. Hardin Hornets
Kountze is 10-0 against Hardin since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Kountze Lions will look to defend their home court against the Hardin Hornets at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Kountze posted their biggest victory since December 15, 2023 on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Buna 66-38 on the road. Given Kountze's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while Buna is ranked 475th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hardin was handed a three-point defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Anahuac on Friday. Hardin blew past Anahuac 53-33. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Hardin has posted against Anahuac since January 26, 2016.
Kountze's win was their 21st straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-4. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 24.62 points. As for Hardin, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.
Kountze strolled past Hardin when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 48-33. Does Kountze have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hardin turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
