Recap: Mountainair vs. Logan
On Friday, Logan faced Mountainair in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Logan took down Mountainair 48-32. The Mustangs can consider this payback for the 40-14 defeat they dealt the Longhorns the last time the teams encountered one another August.
The Longhorns started the contest off right with 20 first-half points. Meanwhile, the Mustangs couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 20 to nothing heading into the break. The Longhorns were outperformed in the second half 32-28 but had enough points saved up to walk away with the win.
The victory makes it two in a row for Logan and bumps their record up to 6-4. The loss dropped Mountainair's record to 5-4. Both of these squads appear to have finished up the season, as they have no upcoming games scheduled.
