Football Recap: Rylan Hume's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Highlands Ranch over Golden + How To Watch

Highlands Ranch scored first but ultimately less than Golden in their contest on Friday. They took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Demons. The Falcons were up 14-0 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Highlands Ranch lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Rylan Hume, who threw for 246 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes. 120 of Hume's passing yards were hauled in by George West.

Golden's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Austin Demling led the charge by throwing for 130 yards and three TDs. What's more, Demling posted five rushing yards, the most he's had since back in September. Ethan Bonafede was Demling's top target, picking up 26 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Highlands Ranch has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Golden, their record now sits at 7-3.

Highlands Ranch and Golden are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Falcons will head out to take on Grand Junction at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Highlands Ranch will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points in their last five games. As for Golden, they will welcome Air Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
