Preview: Enumclaw Hornets vs. Othello Huskies
Enumclaw is on a 13-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Othello is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Enumclaw Hornets will take on the Othello Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Enumclaw has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 417 points over their last eight matches.
Enumclaw put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Sammamish 77-0 at home. Given Enumclaw's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while Sammamish is ranked 205th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Enumclaw's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Wyatt Neu, who rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 62 receiving yards. Neu really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Donovan, who rushed for 101 yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Othello stacked a third blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard two weeks ago. They blew past East Valley 49-13 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-7.
Their wins bumped Enumclaw to 10-0 and Othello to 7-2.
Enumclaw came out on top in a nail-biter against Othello in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, sneaking past 20-17. Will Enumclaw repeat their success, or does Othello have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
