Cesar Chavez fought the good fight in their overtime match against Sunnyslope on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Sunnyslope Vikings by a score of 1-0. The Champions' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Cesar Chavez's defeat dropped their record down to 6-1. As for Sunnyslope, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cesar Chavez and Red Mountain will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Sunnyslope, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Independence at 11:00 a.m. on December 27th. Independence knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Sunnyslope likes a good challenge.
