Baseball Recap: Jena Takes a Loss

Jena fell victim to Benton and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 15-0 to the Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Giants have suffered since March 17th.

Jena dropped their record down to 20-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Benton, they are on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 19 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-2 record this season.

Jena will be playing in front of their home fans against Hackberry at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Giants' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Benton, they will host Natchitoches Central at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Chiefs will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
