Baseball Recap: Moss Point Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Moss Point and Gautier, and Gautier kept the tradition alive. The Tigers fell just short of the Gators by a score of 2-0 on Monday. The Tigers have struggled against the Gators recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Moss Point saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jonovan Thompson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Thompson is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Moss Point's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Gautier, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Moss Point has already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Lumberton on the 21st. As for Gautier, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-5 defeat against Sacred Heart on the 19th.
