Softball Preview: Sprague Olympians vs. McNary Celtics        
        
		
            
 Sprague is 1-9 against McNary since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Friday. The Sprague Olympians will head out on the road to  challenge  the McNary Celtics at 5:00  p.m.
 Sprague will face McNary after dropping another heartbreaker against West Salem  on Wednesday, which marked the second time in a row the team's come within 2.1 2.1  runs of beating them. Sprague fell  4-1 to West Salem.
 Sprague saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Olivia Borzy, who  went 1-for-3 with a  triple.
 Meanwhile, McNary's hitters rose to the challenge against a Saxons pitching crew that boasted an average of only 3.88 points allowed on Wednesday. McNary blew past South Salem 14-0. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for McNary.
  Natalie Macik made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Macik was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Ali Martinez was  excellent,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Aspynn Westby, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-3.
 Sprague's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for McNary, their win bumped their record up to 7-11.
 Sprague skirted past McNary  3-1 in their previous matchup  last Tuesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sprague since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
