Baseball Recap: North Montgomery's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

North Montgomery put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Western Boone Stars by a score of 8-3. Eight seems to be a good number for the Chargin' Chargers as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Cade Cole spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits.

At the plate, North Montgomery let Tucker Hinds and Aiden Ambriz-Cruz run wild. Hinds scored a run while going 3-for-4, while Ambriz-Cruz scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave Ambriz-Cruz a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Crew Cole, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

North Montgomery's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Western Boone, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Montgomery will square off against Covington at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Western Boone, they will face off against Sheridan at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
