Softball Recap: Bishop O'Connell Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Bishop O'Connell couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 13-3 to the Paul VI Panthers on Friday. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Knights, who until this contest were averaging 2.1 runs allowed.

MJ Melvin made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Bishop O'Connell's defeat dropped their record down to 16-5. As for Paul VI, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 25-3.

Bishop O'Connell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Paul VI, they will face off against St. Catherine's at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 1.8, the Saints 1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
