Baseball Recap: West Wendover Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Yerington

West Wendover faced Yerington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. West Wendover lost 11-1 to Yerington. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-2 on Friday.

West Wendover saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abraham Salazar, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for West Wendover and nudges their season record down to 8-4. As for Yerington, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: West Wendover beat Yerington by a score of 6-2 later that day.
