Softball Recap: Jamestown Red & Green vs. Fredonia Hillbillies

Jamestown extended their losing streak to seven on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 2-7 in the process. They lost 18-0 to the Fredonia Hillbillies. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hillbillies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 last Monday.

As for Fredonia, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 12-2. Considering they have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Fredonia's part, Danielle Palisin made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Palisin has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one double. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jenna Fryberger was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Naomi Muck, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
