Sheldon is a perfect 10-0 against South Eugene since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Irish will welcome the Axe at 12:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Sheldon has three straight wins, South Eugene has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Tuesday, Sheldon got the win against South Salem by a conclusive 15-4. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Irish's hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Soraya Dorsey made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Dorsey was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Sheldon let Ella Alfano and Braelyn Stone run wild. Alfano got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI, while Stone got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Those two runs gave Alfano a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aspen Womack, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Sheldon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Salem only posted an OBP of .308.

Meanwhile, South Eugene came up short against Roseburg on Tuesday and fell 7-2.

Sheldon's victory bumped their record up to 14-9. As for South Eugene, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-18.

Sheldon beat South Eugene 10-6 when the teams last played back in April. Do the Irish have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Axe turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
