Recap: American Heritage Academy Patriots vs. Awaken Christian Lions
On Wednesday, American Heritage Academy came up short against Awaken Christian and fell 42-29.
It was another big night for Phoenix Sharp, who scored 26 points along with six rebounds and three steals for Awaken Christian. Sharp is absolutely dominating the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Kaylee Rasmussen was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven steals.
American Heritage Academy now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Awaken Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. American Heritage Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Round Mountain at 4:30 p.m. on January 25th. As for Awaken Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Lake Mead Academy at 5:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Lake Mead Academy is ranked 47th, while Awaken Christian is ranked 71st).
