Baseball Recap: Desert Hills Makes It 17 in a Row at Home

Desert Hills faced Dixie in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Thunder blew past the Flyers 15-5. The Thunder might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Andrew Wilson was a standout: he went a perfect 5-for-5 with six RBI and two doubles. Those five hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Haigen Reed, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Wilson wasn't the only one making solid contact: Desert Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dixie only managed eight hits.

Desert Hills pushed their record up to 15-1 with the win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Dixie, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.
