Volleyball Recap: Pflugerville Connally Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Pflugerville Connally was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They came up short against the Elgin Wildcats, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in September.

Pflugerville Connally was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Elgin work for it, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 26-24, 25-20.

Elise Lee paced Pflugerville Connally's offense, picking up five kills. Lee got some help from Caroline Benge and her 13 assists.

Elgin found their leader in sophomore Makayla Cooper, who had 13 digs and two aces.

Pflugerville Connally's loss dropped their record down to 5-31. As for Elgin, their win ended a seven-match drought at home and bumped them up to 7-26.

Pflugerville Connally and Elgin could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Cougars will take on Hendrickson at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (1186 vs. 424). Meanwhile, Elgin (ranked 1019th) will meet East View (ranked 425th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
