Basketball Recap: Union Grove Snags Third Victory in Last Four Games

If Ore City wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Union Grove, they should've done a better job of containing Jace Roberts. The Union Grove Lions snuck past the Ore City Rebels with a 52-47 victory on Saturday thanks in part to Roberts, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards. He has been hot, having posted nine or more rebounds the last eight times he's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Mayhan, who posted seven points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rebounds.

Union Grove has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Ore City, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season.

Union Grove will take on McLeod at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ore City, they will face off against Hawkins at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hawkins will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Ore City surely won't give up without a fight.
