Yuba City and Roseville are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Yuba City Honkers will be playing at home against the Roseville Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Roseville took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Yuba City, who comes in off a win.

Yuba City was handed a nine-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over Folsom. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Honkers have posted since April 2, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Julian Garcia, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Yuba City was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, Roseville didn't have quite enough to beat Oakmont on Friday and fell 3-2.

Roseville also got a good showing from Austin Chang, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

At the plate, Roseville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colton Wolfe, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. The dominant performance gave Wolfe a new career-high in RBI. Benjamin Jordan also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Yuba City has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. Roseville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Yuba City beat Roseville 6-3 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Does Yuba City have another victory up their sleeve, or will Roseville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
