Basketball Recap: Caprock Takes a Loss

Caprock extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping them down to 3-10. They fell 59-48 to the Lubbock-Cooper Pirates. While the Longhorns didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Pirates 17-13 in the first quarter.

As for Lubbock-Cooper, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-7. That's two games straight that they have won by exactly 11 points.

Obi O'Suoji had a dynamite game, dropping a double-double with 26 points and 11 rebounds. Lubbock-Cooper is undefeated when O'Suoji posts 15 or more points, but 4-7 otherwise. Will Marcinkowski also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Caprock will challenge rival Palo Duro at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Lubbock-Cooper is set to square off against their familiar foe Lubbock at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
