While North Jackson's victory against Collinsville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Chiefs narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Panthers 9-8. The victory continues a trend for the Chiefs in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won five in a row.

Peyton Malley and Kinley Burton did most of the damage at the plate: Malley got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Burton went 3-for-5 with three runs. That's the most runs Burton has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Allison Ferguson, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and one RBI.

North Jackson's win bumped their record up to 12-17. As for Collinsville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-14-1.

Looking ahead, North Jackson will challenge Pisgah at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Collinsville, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Valley Head at 4:30 p.m. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
