With a playoff win on the line, West Ranch rose to the challenge on Saturday. They never let the Mater Dei Monarchs get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their ninth in a row.

Hunter Manning spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, West Ranch's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Stoll, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

West Ranch's victory bumped their record up to 25-9. As for Mater Dei, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 19-14.

West Ranch does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mater Dei, they will head out to face off against Crespi at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Celts' pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so the Monarchs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
