Preview: Worth County Tigers vs. North Harrison Shamrocks
Worth County is on a four-game streak of home losses, North Harrison a ten-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The Worth County Tigers will take on the North Harrison Shamrocks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Worth County suffered their biggest loss since November 27, 2023 on Tuesday. They were the victim of a tough 70-44 loss at the hands of Princeton. Worth County has not had much luck with Princeton recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the loss, Worth County got a solid performance out of Kynah Steele, who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. That's the first time this season that Steele scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Richardson, who scored six points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 85-5, which was the final score in North Harrison's tilt against South Harrison last Thursday. While losing is never fun, North Harrison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 494th, while South Harrison is ranked 131st).
Worth County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for North Harrison, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11.
Worth County strolled past North Harrison when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a score of 46-30. Will Worth County repeat their success, or does North Harrison have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
