Basketball Recap: Crofton Comes Up Short

Crofton lost against Cedar Catholic back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Crofton Warriors might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Cedar Catholic Trojans an easy 74-52 victory. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-17.

When it comes to explaining why Crofton lost, don't look at Trevor Allen. Despite the final result, he posted 19 points. Another player making a difference was Braxston Foxhoven, who put up 11 points.

Crofton dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Cedar Catholic, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crofton will take on Niobrara/Verdigre in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Crofton is facing Niobrara/Verdigre at the right time seeing as Niobrara/Verdigre is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Cedar Catholic, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Laurel-Concord-Coleridge at 7:45 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
