Softball Game Preview: Boerne-Champion Chargers vs. Veterans Memorial Patriots

The Boerne-Champion Chargers will head out on the road to challenge the Veterans Memorial Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Veterans Memorial took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Boerne-Champion, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Boerne-Champion needed a bit of extra time to put away Tivy. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Antlers. Surprisingly, this marked the sixth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Meanwhile, Veterans Memorial entered their game against Smithson Valley on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Veterans Memorial came up short against Smithson Valley, falling 6-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Patriots were not able to get on the board.

Kyani Morn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game.

Veterans Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Boerne-Champion, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-6.
