Preview: Keller Indians vs. Southlake Carroll Dragons
Keller is 9-1 against Southlake Carroll since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Keller Indians will be home for the holidays to greet the Southlake Carroll Dragons at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Keller had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 71-33 win over Lamar at home. Given Keller's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 61st, while Lamar is ranked 342nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Steven Ramirez, who scored 27 points along with seven rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Keller's points. Quinn Estep was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Southlake Carroll beat Bowie 61-55 on Tuesday.
Keller has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Southlake Carroll, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Keller strolled past Southlake Carroll when the teams last played back in January by a score of 59-44. Will Keller repeat their success, or does Southlake Carroll have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
