Kapaun Mt. Carmel barely beat Newton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Crusaders' defense stepped up to hand the Railroaders a 6-0 shutout on Thursday. That looming 6-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Kapaun Mt. Carmel yet this season.

The win was the third in a row for Kapaun Mt. Carmel, bringing their record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those three contests. As for Newton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5-1.

Looking ahead, Kapaun Mt. Carmel will look to defend their home pitch on Saturday against Saint Thomas Aquinas at 1:00 p.m. As for Newton, they will head out to challenge Valley Center on Tuesday. Valley Center will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Newton surely won't give up without a fight.
