Preview: Basic Wolves vs. Green Valley Gators
Basic has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Green Valley Gators at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Basic knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully Green Valley likes a good challenge.
Even though Del Sol scored an imposing 55 points on Tuesday, Basic still came out on top. Basic took their match against Del Sol 63-55.
Basic got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Alvonte' Nelson out in front who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelani Stafford, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Green Valley waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Southeast Career Tech 70-18 on the road. That looming 70-18 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Green Valley yet this season.
Basic's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Green Valley, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Basic came up short against Green Valley in their previous meeting on January 2nd, falling 67-62. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Green Valley's Brock Barney, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 14 rebounds.
