Softball Recap: Johnstown-Monroe Comes Up Short

The Johnstown-Monroe Johnnies came up short against the Mathews Mustangs on Friday and fell 4-1. The game marked the Johnnies' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Abigail Wood spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up ten Ks.

Johnstown-Monroe's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Mathews, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-2.

Coincidentally, Johnstown-Monroe and Mathews will both be playing Ontario the next time they take the field. The Mustangs will head out to face the Warriors at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Johnnies will play them later in the day, at 3:00 p.m.
