Aledo came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Chisholm Trail Rangers a 17-0 shutout. Give the Bearcats' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's fifth straight shutout.

TAYLOR MCKEAN was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, ADDIE PERRY was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. GRACIE JONES also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Aledo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .724. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Aledo's win bumped their record up to 19-3. As for Chisholm Trail, they dropped their record down to 9-12-1 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home.

Aledo didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-0 victory against Fossil Ridge on the 8th. As for Chisholm Trail, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Saginaw at 7:00 p.m. on the 15th.
