Football Recap: Marshall Takes a Loss

Marshall fell victim to Carlsbad and their airtight defense on Saturday. They lost 24-0 to the Lancers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-0 on Friday.

Jaylin Macias threw for 60 yards on seven of 15 attempts. Bailey Avilez was her top target, picking up 30 receiving yards.

Marshall is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3. As for Carlsbad, their victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0.

Marshall will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Verdugo Hills at 2:00 p.m. on September 3. As for Carlsbad, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-6 win against Classical Academy on the 23rd.
