Football Recap: Marshall Comes Up Short

Saturday just wasn't the day for Marshall's offense. They lost 24-0 to the Carlsbad Lancers on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Barristers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Lancers are ranked 23rd).

Jaylin Macias threw for 60 yards on seven of 15 attempts. Bailey Avilez was her top target, picking up 30 receiving yards.

Marshall is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3. As for Carlsbad, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Marshall will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Verdugo Hills at 2:00 p.m. on September 3. As for Carlsbad, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-6 victory against Classical Academy on the 23rd.
