Recap: Malcolm Clippers vs. Beatrice Orangemen
It was a good run, but the Malcolm Clippers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They received a tough blow as they fell 53-35 to Beatrice. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Malcolm of the 49-37 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Despite the defeat, Malcolm saw an underclassman step up: Halle Dolliver dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Dolliver has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Zegar, who scored seven points.
Malcolm's loss dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Beatrice, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Malcolm will take on Wahoo at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wahoo is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Beatrice, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Norris at 5:30 p.m. Norris knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Beatrice likes a good challenge.
