Soccer Game Preview: Austin vs. Sharpstown

Austin is 1-9 against Sharpstown since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Austin Mustangs will be playing at home against the Sharpstown Apollos at 12:00 p.m. Austin has given up an average of 2.8 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Austin is headed into Saturday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They came up short against Waltrip, falling 5-0.

Meanwhile, Sharpstown kept a clean sheet against Carnegie Vanguard on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Rhinos with a sharp 6-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Apollos.

They hit Carnegie Vanguard with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Wilmer Amaya Martinez (2), Josue Kouadio (2), Wilson Perdomo, and Carlos Zuniga Rapalo.

Austin's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Sharpstown, their win bumped their record up to 13-8.
