Basketball Recap: Union Parish Takes a Loss

Union Parish lost against Red River back in December of 2018 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Union Parish Farmers had to suffer through a 66-28 loss at the hands of the Red River Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Farmers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 258th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 91st).

Union Parish's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-12. As for Red River, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union Parish will challenge Jonesboro-Hodge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Red River, they will head out to challenge Mansfield at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Red River knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Mansfield likes a good challenge.
