Recap: Sulphur Bluff Bears vs. Bloomburg Wildcats
The Sulphur Bluff Bears lost against the Bloomburg Wildcats back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The matchup between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Sulphur Bluff falling 54-35. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for them in their matchups with Bloomburg: they've now lost three in a row.
Several Bears players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zaylee Peyton, who scored 17 points. Ana Servin was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Sulphur Bluff has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-17 record this season. As for Bloomburg, they pushed their record up to 17-7 with that victory, which was their 18th straight at home.
Sulphur Bluff will take on Yantis at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Yantis is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Bloomburg, they will head out on the road to square off against Saltillo at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Saltillo is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
