Basketball Recap: Kemper Academy Comes Up Short

Kemper Academy lost against Sylva Bay Academy last Thursday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Rams were beaten by the Saints 62-17. The Rams were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-11.

Sylva Bay Academy had a senior duo take command as Tristen Rogers shot 77% from the field on his way to 21 points and eight steals and Cash Pickel went 10-for-17 en route to 21 points and eight boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rogers has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Micah Odom, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Kemper Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Sylva Bay Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Coincidentally, Kemper Academy and Sylva Bay Academy will both be playing Russell Christian Academy the next time they take the court. The Saints will host the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on December 1, while the Rams will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2026.
