Baseball Recap: Omaha Westside Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Omaha Westside had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 9-12 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They never let the Millard North Mustangs get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 6-2 victory the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Omaha Westside got a great performance from Reid Beberniss as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Beberniss also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Warriors are undefeated when he allows at most three earned runs, but 6-12 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Jack Schulz was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

As for Millard North, their record now sits at 14-8. The contest marked the first time this year in which they were not able to get on the board.

On Millard North's side, Noah Gartner was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Gartner has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

Omaha Westside has already played their next game, a 4-1 loss against Lincoln East on the 1st. As for Millard North, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, an 8-3 defeat against Creighton Prep on the 29th.
