Baseball Recap: Fort Meade's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak on the Road

With a playoff win on the line, Fort Meade rose to the challenge on Monday. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Marathon Dolphins. This was a revenge game for the Miners: when they faced off against the Dolphins two weeks ago, they had to take a 2-1 loss.

Andrew Brooks spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Owen Harrell was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Harrell, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Fort Meade's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 16-12. As for Marathon, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-10.

Fort Meade will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Dolphins: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
