It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Kettle Run had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Culpeper County Blue Devils 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cougars have posted since May 30, 2025.

Kettle Run is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Culpeper County, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 14-11.
