League recap: Uphoff breaks off league-leading run for Chowchilla

North Sequoia recap Sept. 26, 2012

Chowchilla's Troy Uphoff rumbled for the longest rushing play in North Sequoia this season in his game against Dos Palos last week. Uphoff ran for 85 yards on the play and finished with 121 on the day as his team defeated the Broncos.

Sierra extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Parlier, 31-27. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.

Devaughn Gaines put up the best numbers through the air as Chowchilla defeated Dos Palos. He finished with a total of four completions for 110 yards and two touchdowns. Gaines' favorite target this week was Brendon Arendse, who caught one pass for 47 yards.

Kyle Barcus was the best wideout in the league this week as Sierra bested the Panthers. Barcus tallied two receptions for 70 yards. Brent Smith helped Sierra's passing attack out by catching three balls for 36 yards.

Gage McAdams was the most productive running back in North Sequoia this week. In 19 carries, he ran for 140 yards as Rob Hastie's team bested Parlier. Teammate Aaron Maldonado added to the ground attack by rushing for 63 yards.

On the ground, the Chieftains' McAdams has rushed for 530 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Mlkey Waters. The Sierra star has 12 catches for 152 yards.

Alex Pittz's team was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to third in the league. Earlier in the week, the Redskins triumphed over the Broncos 56-14.
