Appling County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Makayla Williams, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Williams a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Perri Mitchell, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds.

Appling County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive boards in 13 consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Columbia had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38.4 points) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Wednesday. They blew past the Bears 52-26. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 20 games by 20 points or more this season.

Columbia's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-5. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.3 points over those games. As for Appling County, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season.
