Soccer Game Preview: Dutch Fork vs. Irmo

The Dutch Fork Silver Foxes will take on the Irmo Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was River Bluff who was credited with the victory on Tuesday. River Bluff got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Dutch Fork's one. Dutch Fork haven't had much luck with River Bluff recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Irmo managed to keep up with Chapin until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Irmo lost 3-0 to Chapin. While losing is never fun, Irmo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 74th, while Chapin are ranked tenth).

Irmo's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Dutch Fork, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Dutch Fork beat Irmo by a goal when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 1-0. Will Dutch Fork repeat their success, or does Irmo has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
