The loss continues a trend for the Red Hawks in their meetings with the Bluejays: they've now lost five in a row.

Hiawatha now has a losing record of 6-7-1. As for Sabetha, they pushed their record up to 7-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bluejays beat Hiawatha by a score of 2-1 later that day.
