Basketball Recap: Drew Davis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Classical Academy over Grossmont + How To Watch

After flying high against Escondido on Thursday, Classical Academy came back down to earth. The Caimans lost 58-34 to the Grossmont Foothillers on Friday.

Classical Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Drew Davis, who posted nine points. Another player making a difference was Zachary Meister, who earned seven points.

Grossmont got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Andrew Ashton out in front who went 5-for-11 to rack up 15 points. Rayin Hamlett was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Grossmont, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-3.

Classical Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-42 loss against St. Joseph Academy on the 9th. As for Grossmont, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 47-43 defeat against Patrick Henry on the 9th.
