Basketball Recap: Cumberland Extends Winning Streak to Three

Cumberland won against Argenta-Oreana on Friday with 60 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. The Cumberland Pirates walked away with a 60-47 victory over the Fairfield Mules. The win was familiar territory for the Pirates who have now won three matches in a row.

Cumberland got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Zack Harmon out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 20 boards. The dominant performance gave Harmon a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Roedl, who posted 17 points along with five assists and five boards.

Cumberland pushed their record up to 18-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points over those games. As for Fairfield, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cumberland will host Sullivan at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fairfield, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hamilton County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hamilton County will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Fairfield surely won't give up without a fight.
