Baseball Game Preview: Omaha Northwest Huskies vs. Creighton Prep Junior Jays

Omaha Northwest hasn't had much luck against Creighton Prep recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Huskies will face off against the Junior Jays at 7:00 p.m.

Omaha Northwest came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Roncalli Catholic, falling 10-2.

Omaha Northwest saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Oliver Dalrymple, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that Dalrymple brought in this season.

Meanwhile, Creighton Prep waltzed into their contest on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Tigers 14-1. The matchup marked the Junior Jays' most dominant win of the season so far.

Quinn Peterson looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Creighton Prep is 2-1 when Peterson allows one or fewer earned runs, but 5-6 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Max Pietro, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Braden Caito, who scored three runs while going 1-for-2.

Creighton Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive games.

Omaha Northwest's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Creighton Prep, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Omaha Northwest might still be hurting after the 13-2 defeat they got from Creighton Prep when the teams last played back in March of 2022. Can the Huskies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
